1850S ERA SO-CALLED MILLINER MODELS DOLL. Papier mache shoulder head on narrow waist firm leather body with wooden lower arms and legs with painted green slippers. She has a center part hairdo with short vertical curls covering ears and ending in back at the neckline. Clothing appears to be original and in excellent condition. SIZE: 10-3/4″ (27 cm) CONDITION: Flaking of gesso on right shoulder edge, one piece re-glued. Although not appearing to be repainted, the doll has uncharacteristic sheen, perhaps having been given a clear coat to prevent further deterioration of gesso. 1-8365 RS (600-800)
