35” CLOSE-MOUTH TETE JUMEAU DOLL. Marked on the head with a red stamp “DEPOSE TETE JUMEAU 16” on fully articulated wood and composition body. Also stamped in blue “JUMEAU MEDAILLE D’OR PARIS.” This seldom found doll is wearing brown human hair wig with center part over original cork pate, she has brown paperweight glass eyes and applied ears. Doll has been redressed in a white cotton dress with embroidered collar and lace trim, wearing modern black vinyl Mary-Jane style shoes and lacking undergarments. CONDITION: Near excellent quality bisque with finely painted eyelashes and brows, entire body has been lightly repainted, this doll is of an unusually large size. 1-3752 RS (8,000-10,000)
