*WINCHESTER MODEL 94 SADDLE RING CARBINE THAT BELONGED TO AD TOPPERWEIN & ERNIE LIND. Cal. 30 WCF (30-30). SN 991811. Standard grade carbine with 20” rnd bbl, full magazine, square base front sight with 2,000 yard carbine ladder rear sight. It has a stud & ring in left side of receiver and is mounted with very nicely figured, uncheckered, American walnut with straight stock & carbine buttplate. Accompanied by a notarized letter from Mrs. Ernie Lind dated 3-22-92 wherein she states that Mr. Topperwein had given this carbine to Mr. Lind in 1945. Mr. Topperwein, along with his wife, Plinky, were the Winchester Factory Shooting Team from about 1901-1945 when Mr. Topperwein retired. He selected Dot & Ernie Lind to replace him as the Winchester Factory Shooting Team which position they held for over thirty years. CONDITION: Fine to very fine. Bbl & magazine tube retain most of their strong, bright, orig factory blue and the receiver about 75-80% orig blue with the loss areas mostly flaked to a silver metal color. Wood is sound with a few minor handling & use mars and retains most of its orig factory finish. Mechanics are crisp, bright shiny bore. 4-30666 JR323 (5,500-7,500)
