FINE HERTER TYPE MARBLE TOP INLAID ROSEWOOD CREDENZA. Shaped top marble with molded edge fits into conforming molded wood top. Frieze decorated with dental molding and two side by side dovetailed drawers that have faceted tear drop handles and figured secondary wood. Under which is two large cabinet doors which open to reveal two figured wood shelves. Doors are rosewood with nice moldings, centers with a large oval inlay having multi-colored picture of two birds feeding a nest of young birds in a flowering branch. Gold decorated incised decoration surround the oval. Inward curved sides have decorative inlaid and parquetry side panels. Decorative carved and incised columns all resting on a multi-tiered molded base. Piece has some of the attributed of Herter furniture but is unsigned. SIZE: 42” h x 65” w x 20” d.
