*ENGRAVED REMINGTON MODEL 11-48 SC SEMI-AUTO SHOTGUN. Cal. 28ga. Usual configuration with 25” vent ribbed skeet choked bbl, semi-beavertail forearm and pistol grip stock. Reportedly owned by president of the Remington Arms Co., this spectacular shotgun has full coverage engraving by master engraver Arnold Greibel. The receiver is completely covered with extremely fine, detailed engraving that consists of four gold woodcock and two gold birddogs, one holding a dead woodcock, in a woodland scene. Right side is of two gold German short hairs and five gold quail in a woodland scene. The balance of the receiver is completely covered with fine foliate arabesque patterns which extend 2-3/4” over the chamber, with a tiny bit at the muzzle. The trigger guard and grip cap are matching engraved, and the grip cap has a gold wire border. Wood is very nicely grained about 3X walnut with original Remington hard rubber buttplate. The engraving is all executed in extremely fine detail and proportion. SN 4009676.
