*CUSTOM ENGRAVED & GOLD INLAID WINCHESTER MODEL 12 SHOTGUN. Cal. 12 ga. Spectacular engraved Model 12 by Walter Kolouch and signed “Eng. W.Kolouch” just above the ejection port, with 30” duck bill ventilated rib bbl choke, modified custom checkered large round forearm, and pistol grip stock with black waffle recoil pad. The receiver has full coverage engraving with raised gold inlays of Washington & Jefferson on each side with Paul Revere in a colonial scene in the center, with the inscription on a riband “The British are Coming”. The right side has raised gold inlays of Samuel Adams and the American Revolutionary Fife & Drum Corps with the American flag in the background, titled on a riband “The Spirit of 76”. There is fine gold wire inlay with silver flowers at the rear of the receiver, gold wire inlay on the top center, bottom center and top front of the receiver, plus gold wire and silver flowers on the take down ring. The entire receiver, take down ring, 6” up the barrel, around the magazine band, and at the muzzle are beautifully engraved with full coverage foliate arabesque patterns and all the engraving has stippled background. The front barrel band is gold inlaid “Life, Liberty and the / Pursuit of Happiness”. The trigger bow is gold inlaid “Liberty and Justice”. The grip cap is wonderfully engraved on an oval metal disc, with the American eagle in exquisite detail and thirteen gold stars around the perimeter. “E Pluribus Unum” is engraved above and below the eagle. The carrier is matching engraved with about 40% coverage and the bolt with 70% coverage. This is one of the more extensive coverage engraved shotguns offered for sale in recent history. The engraving is extremely fine and the inlays are rendered in great detail. SN 523801. CONDITION: Extremely fine, retains virtually all its custom finish to both metal and wood. The barrel and magazine tube have a light purple cast from the blueing process. The wood is very highly figured and very nicely finished with some light crazing to the finish.
