*RARE REMINGTON MODEL 1911A1 TOOL ROOM MODEL. Cal. 45 ACP. NSN. Early configuration 1911A1 with 5″ military bbl that has an “S” & “P” proof on the left side of the lug and it has the usual Remington Rand slide markings on the left side. There is a backward “7” and an “O” under the firing pin keeper, otherwise there are no other discernable marks on the entire pistol. It has the war time production rough finish that is blued, not Parkerized, and has fixed sights, full checkered orig walnut grips and an all blued magazine that may be a more recent replacement. These tool room samples were without serial numbers never inspected and were not intended for release outside the factory and were frequently destroyed in testing. CONDITION: Fine to very fine. Slide retains 95-96% dull blue and the frame about 60% orig blue with a gray front strap with some moderate pitting toward the toe. Bbl retains about 95% orig blue with a brilliant shiny bore. Grips show moderate diamond point wear with a few chips. Mechanics are crisp. 4-58151 JR326 (1,250-1,750)
