*MODEL 1906 AMERICAN EAGLE LUGER BY DWM. SN 35592. Cal.30 Luger. 4-3/4″ Barrel has B U G proofs and SN on bottom. Receiver has BU proofs on left side, American Eagle on top receiver ring, and last two digits of SN on lug. Grip safety frame has bright polished area under safety lever, with SN on front of frame, which is also marked “Germany”. All small parts are marked with last two digits of SN. “Flaming bomb” commercial proof is in well. Toggle assembly has all matching numbers, and BU proofs. Mid link has intertwined “DWM” logo. Extractor is marked “Loaded”. Original nickel-plated magazine has walnut base plug which is marked with “Flaming bomb” commercial proof. PROVENANCE: Military service record of supposed previous owner of this gun. CONDITION: Very fine. Barrel and receiver retain 85-90% original blue, silvered on high edges and muzzle, and thinning on sides of bbl. Frame retains approx 80% original blue, silvered on corners, bottoms of front and rear straps, and other high edges; browning at grip. Takedown lever, trigger, magazine release, and safety lever retain approx. 40% original straw. Grips show considerable wear, with many diamonds flattened from carrying, handling, and use. Bore is fine, with strong rifling, but slightly frosted. 4-39143 (2,000-3,000)
