*EXTRAORDINARILY RARE WALTHER MODEL “AP” PROTOTYPE SEMI-AUTO PISTOL. SN 049. Cal. 9 mm. Exceptionally rare prototype pistol, one of only 50 hand made examples produced from 1936, reference Blue Book of Gun Values, Fjestad, with 5″ bbl, concealed hammer, thick partridge style front sight & square aperture in fixed rear sight. It also features the exceedingly rare Duralloy frame with black anodized finish. Fitted with checkered walnut grips that have number “28” inside and has matching numbered orig magazine. Bbl & slide are finished very bright blue with frame the black anodized aluminum color. PROVENANCE: Doug Smith Collection. CONDITION: Extremely fine, all matching except grips as noted. Bbl & slide retain about 98% glossy orig factory blue with only slight muzzle & sharp edge holster wear on slide. Frame retains about 95% orig black anodized finish with a couple of nicks on trigger guard & minor sharp edge wear with a thin front strap. Grips show minor diamond point wear with a couple of chipped diamonds & retain most of their orig factory finish. Mechanics are crisp, brilliant shiny bore. 4-36126 JR237 (35,000-45,000)
