DAUM CAMEO & ENAMEL SEAGULL VASE. Spectacular Daum vase features cameo and enameled seagulls flying above the ocean with a setting sun in the background. Ocean is depicted with nicely carved waves with two turtles sticking their heads above the waves. The four seagulls are beautifully detailed with black enamel while the sun’s rays are carved into the glass and extend from the sun nearly to the top of the vase. Cameo scene is set against a smooth ocean and acid-etched sky in rich opalescent glass. Rays are highlighted with gold gilt as are highlighted on rim and foot. Vase is signed on underside in gold gilt “Daum Nancy”. SIZE: 16” t. CONDITION: Very good to excellent. 5-63983 (12,500-15,000)
