ATTRIBUTED TO CHARLES CODMAN (American, 1800-1842) A DAY AT THE PARK. Unsigned oil on wood panel scene shows a park-like setting with a bridge over water with a man standing atop at center. A boy is seen on a path leading away from the bridge and two figures are seen above on a level area halfway up a cliff. Four white swans can be seen on the calm foreground water which reflects the trees & colorful sky. In the distance across a large green pasture are several buildings. Housed in a period gilt molded wood frame. SIZE: 19-1/2″ x 27″. CONDITION: The panel has a horizontal glued repair which has been restored and another 6″ crack. Otherwise very good with inpainting. 9-24170 (4,000-6,000)
