FINE PAIR OF CONTINENTAL WOOD AND CARVED BONE FIGURES. Late 19th century. The carvings depict a gentleman and a lady with fan, both rendered in 18th century formal attire and mounted on turned ebonized pedestals. Done in contrasting colors by carving the coat and dress of wood, the rest carved in bone. PROVENANCE: The Estate of Chad Richards, Camden, Maine. CONDITION: Fine original condition overall. Loss to proper left foot of woman and droplet of resin glue on proper right leg. 9-94692 (500-1,000)
