LOUIS XV STYLE INLAID “BUREAU A CYLINDRE”. First half 20th century. Of rectangular form, finished on four sides, the satinwood and mahogany parquetry inlaid case with brass gallery above the concave frieze continuing to a cylinder roll, the marquetry inlaid lid depicting a ribbon bow-tied group of musical instruments with floral sprays opening to an interior of cubbyholes over drawers and a pull-out tooled leather writing surface, raised on four angular cabriole legs centering three frieze drawers, the center most ormolu-mounted, the legs with brass sabots. SIZE: 44″ overall h. x 37″ w. x 24-1/2″ d. PROVENANCE: From a Bangor, Maine collection. CONDITION: Very good overall, in need of some minor veneer repairs and re-attachments. 9-92363 (1,000-1,500)
