HOMER DODGE MARTIN (American, 1836-1897) CATSKILL FISHERMAN. Oil on canvas early evening scene shows a setting sun behind a large pond which is tree lined and has pond lilies in the foreground. A fisherman stands in a small rowboat fishing between the grass and lilies. Signed lower left “HDM 72”. Housed in a good gesso decorated gilt pierced frame. SIZE: 19-1/2” x 28-1/2”. CONDITION: Lifting and chipping to top left quadrant, otherwise good with craquelure. 9-90261 MD (6,000-8,000)
