LOUIS XVI STYLE GILT METAL MOUNTED VITRINE. Circa 1900. The oval cabinet with mirrored back, serpentine sides, and bow front. The pierced gilt-brass gallery above the conforming cornice and frieze mounted with stamped gilt-brass floral swags and leaftip scrolling vinery, above the glass panels opening to an interior fitted with a plate glass shelf, lined in a pink silk brocade. The whole raised on tapered, cylindrical, ball-turned legs joined by a shaped medial shelf, the whole adorned with stamped cast-brass, bow-tied swags and bellflower pendants. SIZE: 66-1/2″ h. x 29-1/2″ w. x 16-1/2″ d. PROVENANCE: From a fine Beacon Hill and Thomaston estate. CONDITION: Piece retains original white paint, gilt-metal mounts, and cabinet glass. Proper right side glass with diagonal crack rear lower corner. Very small shell fracture top center panel door, visible from interior. 9-93631 (1,000-1,500)
