In the background is a low hill with church spires and large dome top building. Foreground has several tall ships in anchor and several sailboats dotting the harbor. A barrel buoy is seen in foreground. Signed lower left “A. Hamilton”. Housed in a fine gilt replacement frame. PROVENANCE: Rankin Estate, Annapolis, Maryland. Christie’s New York Sale 9/27/90 lot 52.
