*RARE DREYSE MODEL 1910 LARGE FRAME SEMI-AUTO PISTOL. SN 1396. Cal. 9 mm Parabellum. Blue finish with 5″ shrouded bbl with a most unusual locking & unlocking system. It has a thumb safety on left rear side of frame and is mounted with checkered hard rubber grips that have embossed initials at the top. Left side of the frame is marked in German “Rheinische Metallwarren-& Maschinenfabrik / AGT. SOMMERDA”. Right side is marked “DREYSE” above ejection port. Accompanied by one 7 or 8-rd magazine with number “169.11” on the base. These rare pistols were manufactured in period 1912-1915 with only an estimated 1,000 pistols produced. They are rarely ever encountered in the U.S. Accompanied by a spare set of wood thumb rest grips. CONDITION: Very good to fine, all visible numbers matching except magazine as noted above. Overall retains 65-70% dull orig blue showing light wear over most surfaces. Front strap is a silver/gray patina and there is a cleaned area in left recess of frame. Grips show moderate diamond point wear and are sound. Spare wooden grips appear to be new. Mechanics are fine, bright shiny bore. 4-40593 JR70 (4,000-6,000)
