27” FRENCH BEBE, HEAD INCISED “BRU JNE R 19”. On fully jointed French body with fixed wrists, stamped in blue “JUMEAU MEDAILLE D’OR PARIS.” This lovely large French child has gray-blue paperweight eyes, close mouth, dimple in chin, red highlight dots at nostrils. Dressed in a salmon color silk pleated dress, velvet panel at chest, and lace collar, antique white leather shoes, white cotton socks, and antique blond mohair wig over original cork pate. CONDITION: There has been professional restoration to the forehead with repainting extending to upper eyelids and lashes; body is of similar period and is appropriately sized but is an obvious marriage; forearms repainted.
