*RARE DWM 1906 SWISS COMMERCIAL LUGER “GESICHERT” MARKED IN LOWER POSITION. SN 26188. Cal. 30 Luger. Rare Swiss Luger with 4-3/4″ bbl, DWM scroll on front toggle link, Geneva cross & sunburst over chamber & “GESICHERT” marked safety which only appears on Lugers with serial number above 25,000. It has grip safety, “BUG” proofs on bottom of bbl, “BU” proofs on left side of breech block & front toggle link with “172.28” under bbl, which indicates the caliber in the old English system (the number of lead bullets of that diameter that would weigh one pound). It has correct wood base magazine. This is a very rare Swiss model Luger in super condition. PROVENANCE: Doug Smith Collection. CONDITION: Exceptionally fine, all matching including grips except magazine, hold open & firing pin which are properly unnumbered. Overall retains about 99% strong orig factory blue & about 98% strong orig straw colors, thin on safety lever. Grips are extremely fine & sharp with only minor, extremely light wear & a light bruise on right side with attractive visible wood grain. Magazine is near mint. Crisp mechanics, brilliant shiny bore, possibly unfired. 4-36103 JR203 & BS (12,500-17,500)
