SCARCE BERGMANN MODEL 1897 NO. 5 SEMI-AUTO PISTOL. SN 570. Cal. 7.8 mm Bergmann. Blue finish with 4-1/4″ rnd bbl, pedestal mounted dovetail barleycorn front sight and 1,000 meter frame mounted rear sight. Pistol has a box magazine, numbered to this pistol and mounted in front of trigger guard and is fitted with “B” logo checkered hard rubber grips and a stock iron slot in butt. Pistol is all blue finish with straw colored various pieces & parts and fire blued extractor & safety lever. These pistols are rarely encountered in the U.S., never having gained commercial acceptance by the American buying public. CONDITION: Very fine to extremely fine, all matching including magazine except grips which are numbered “555”. Overall retains about 95% strong orig factory finish with light muzzle & sharp edge wear and some minor surface spotting to the magazine well.
