*L.C. SMITH IDEAL GRADE DOUBLE BARREL SHOTGUN. Cal. 20ga. Usual configuration with 26” bbls. Marked on the top over the chambers with the Hunter Arms Co. address. Dbl triggers and extractors. Lockplates and receiver are lightly engraved in standard Ideal foliate patterns. Wood is straight grain walnut with black tipped splinter forearm and capped semi-pistol grip stock, 14” over a Pachmayr brown waffle pad. SN FW29761. CONDITION: Good to very good. Bbls retain most of a hot-dip blue and have lost their “ring”. Receiver and lockplates are silvered case colors and gray metal. Lockplate screws and trigger plate screw are replacements. Stock has a hairline back of the left lockplate; otherwise is sound and retains most of a refinish. Checkering on the stock and forearm have been recently re-cut. Bores are bright and shiny and appear to have been recently honed. There is a tiny hole in the bbl wall about 1/4” down from the muzzle in the right bbl. 4-48685 JR568 (400-700)
