Of decagonal tapered cylindrical form, each facet incised with units of measurement, the handle a scrimshawed whale’s tooth engraved with a sailing ship and American flag inscribed “1st MATE SILAS H. GAGE” within a scrolling banner ending with a tarred becket. Together with a copy of “Scribner’s Ready Reckoner Log Book”. SIZE: 42-1/2” l.
