CARL PHILIPP WEBER (American, 1850-1921) “LAKE GEORGE NO. 7”. Oil on canvas scene shows a man with backpack, walking stick & dog walking along a trail in a break in woods with an overlook of a village on the side of a lake with mountains beyond. Sunlight breaks through lightening clouds and casts sunshine which is reflected in the lake. Signed lower left and dated “1883”. Housed in what appears to be its original gilt frame, possibly regilded. Back stretcher with title. SIZE: 20″ x 30″. CONDITION: Very good with craquelure and stretcher lines evident. 9-23909 (3,000-5,000)
