MOORE & HARRIS FINE DOUBLE BARREL SHOTGUN. Cal 12 ga. Deluxe damascus shotgun with 30” damascus pattern bbls choked MOD/IMP CYL having a concave rib with the makers name and address and “Improved lever hammerless”. Double lump with doll’s head extension and single brass bead. Sidelock receiver with patent crystal indicators and about 60% coverage fine arabesque pattern engraving. It is equipped with double triggers and extractors. Wood is fine marlblecake French walnut with checkered splinter forearm and semi-pistol grip stock 14” over a checkered horn butt plate. Accompanied by what appears to be an Abercrombe & Fitch leather trunk case with compartment in the lid for cleaning equipment. SN 32058. CONDITION: Good to very good. Bbls retain mostly brown patina with strong pattern on the bottom and under the forearm. Receiver retains about 20% case colors in sheltered areas and the lockplates about 75% dark case colors. Wood is sound showing heavy wear and retains about all of a crude refinish. The butt stock has a heavy scraped area on the right side near the buttplate and the buttplate is partially melted. The stock also has a 5/8” hole in the bottom filled with lead. The bores are bright and shiny with some fine minor pitting. The case is dry and worn with the front handle straps crackled and dry rotted. The lining is severely mothed. 4-48899 JR694 (800-1,200)
