*FINE EARLY SMITH & WESSON MODEL 1917 ARMY DA REVOLVER WITH HOLSTER. SN 88413. Cal. 45 ACP. Blue finish with 5-1/2″ tapered rnd bbl, integral half moon front sight and grooved top strap rear sight. Top of bbl has 2-line address with last patent date “1909”. Left side of bbl is marked “S&W D.A. 45”. Mounted with 2-pc smooth walnut grips and has usual Army markings on butt strap with Ordnance Corps flaming bomb on left side of frame by cylinder and the Springfield eagle on left rear web of trigger guard. It has a lanyard stud & loop in butt strap. Accompanied by a G. & K. 1918 “US” marked flap holster with buckskin thong. CONDITION: Extremely fine plus, all matching including bbl & cyl, grips are unnumbered. Overall retains about 98% bright commercial blue with bright case colors on hammer and faded case colors on trigger. Grips are sound with minor handling & storage marks and retain most of their orig oil finish. Mechanics are crisp, brilliant shiny bore.
