AMERICAN AESTHETIC MOVEMENT ROSEWOOD MARQUETRY SIDE CABINET. Circa 1870. Of rectangular form with concave molded frieze mounted with a scrolled crest and gilt incised decoration centering a marquetry panel of geometric design in the manner of Herter Brothers, the cabinet fitted with a narrow drawer above a central door, the panel framed with scrolled elements and contrasting inlays, centering an oval floral marquetry panel beneath a cast bronze rosette flanked by incised and decorated concave pilasters mounted with gilt bronze rosettes, above a molded base raised on suppressed ball feet and casters. SIZE: 51″ overall h. x 41″ w. x 18-1/2″ d. PROVENANCE: From an extensive private Gulf Coast collection.
