*EDDYSTONE MODEL 1917 RIFLE. Cal. 30-06. SN 1274171. 26” bbl dated “9-18”. A really pleasing example of a late war or post-war totally matching 1917 Enfield. CONDITION: Receiver retains 90-95% orig greenish tint Parkerizing with one or two small bright spots on it & a few machining flaws visible underneath finish. Bolt is orig parkerized finish with all parts matching retaining 90% orig finish. Bolt release is also “E” marked, parkerized with spring being blued. Bbl is also in 95-98% condition with one very small dent in sight band. Front bbl band is also “E” marked retaining 95% or better finish with a slight buggering & a couple of very light scratches around the screw. Middle band is also in 95% or better condition with one or two very minor bright spots. Trigger guard assembly is also in 95% condition with one or two extremely small marks, as with the floorplate. Buttplate retains 80-85% orig finish with a nickel oiler in trap. Rifle also retains a leather 03 type WWI sling which is dried but in very good condition. Buttstock is in good condition with some relatively small dings throughout, most of which are right around two bbl bands & a small stock repair, obviously G.I., on right side just in front of receiver ring where a 1-1/4” x 1/4” piece was inletted into stock. Finger grooves are very sharp & nice. Rear hand guard is in very nice condition with one small chip up toward front & is “E” marked. Front hand guard is in good condition though has several more dings than rear, but finish matches the rear. Bore is somewhat dark with very strong rifling. 4-57835 BK52 (800-1,300)
