AMERICAN SILVERPLATE PRESENTATION FIREMAN’S SPEAKING TRUMPET, PENNSYLVANIA. 3rd quarter 19th century. This nice example engraved “UNITED HOSE NO 4 BRADFORD, PA”, chased and decorated overall with floral sprays and scrolled leafy cartouches; also engraved with firefighting symbols of crossed ladders, pike and helmet. The horn mounted with carrying rings, one with the maker’s mark of MERIDEN & COMPANY centering a hallmark with balance scale. SIZE: 20″ h. CONDITION: Very good overall original condition, plating mostly intact. 9-95330 (1,400-1,800)
