ENGLISH CAMEO JUNIOR LAMP. Thuro II, pg. 141e. Opaque white glass over a pink satin background. The white glass is carved in a floral and geometric pattern, much of which is left glossy. The chimney is a reverse frosted cranberry having a 2-1/2″ fitter. The burner, shade ring and collar are silver plated. The burner is signed “Hinks Duplex Patent”. The lamp is not signed but thought to be of Webb manufacture. SIZE: Overall 20″ to top of chimney. PROVENANCE: Ex-William Young Collection. As mentioned above the lamp is pictured in the book “Oil Lamps II: Glass Kerosene Lamps” by Catherine M. V. Thuro, pg. 141, fig. e. The description of the lamp in this book states that it was from the Dr. & Mrs. Leonard S. Rakow Collection and was part of a cameo glass exhibit held at the Corning Museum of Glass in 1982. CONDITION: Very good to excellent. The shade has a chip out of the bottom fitter edge which is concealed when shade is in place. There is a tiny, tiny flea bite to the petal of one background flower on the base of the lamp. 5-60720 (15,000-25,000)
