AMERICAN VICTORIAN SILVERPLATE FIREMAN’S SPEAKING TRUMPET. 3rd quarter 19th century. This trumpet chased and engraved overall with floral sprays and flowerheads, the carrying rings mounted with eagles’ heads and silk tasseled cord, the throat engraved with a tableau of crossed swords, axe, pike, and lantern centering a fireman’s helmet. The horn mouth with flared everted rim. SIZE: 19″ h. CONDITION: Mouthpiece re-soldered and re-attached. Showing slight overall wear to silverplate, with surface scratches on mouthpiece and rim of horn. 9-95331 (1,500-2,000)
