CURRIER & IVES (American, Publisher, 19th Century) “STEAMER PENOBSCOT”. Outstanding large folio lithograph shows the steamship Penobscot sailing left to right flying the American flag and ship and company pennants. Many people are seen aboard with lighthouse off bow. Top margin having “Boston and Bangor Steamship Co.”. Bottom margin “Steamer Penobscot. One of the fleet forming the line between Boston, Bangor & Mt. Desert” with other company information. Listed in Conningham’s Book No. 5736. Housed in a flat oak frame . SIGHT SIZE: 26-1/4” x 38-1/2”. CONDITION: Unmounted, some minor loss and creases to edge. Light toning in small section.
