COLT MODEL 1883 HAMMERLESS DOUBLE BARREL SHOTGUN. Cal. 10 ga. Field grade gun with 32” barrels, concave matted rib with the manufacturer’s name and address at the breech end, with dolls head and double lumps. The receiver has light border engraving and is case-colored. The wood is highly figured American walnut with black tipped splintered forearm, cap pistol grip stock with orig. colt logo black composition buttplate. It has extractors and double triggers. SN 2740. CONDITION: Very good to excellent. The barrels retain about 95% dark orig. damascus pattern, the receiver 40-50% fading case colors with the balance turned silver, and the trigger guard retaining about 50% bright blue. The forearm is sound and retains most of its orig. varnish. There is a chip on the toe of the stock and butt plate, also the stock has a fresh crack through the wrist in the checkering, otherwise is beautiful and retains most of its orig. bright varnish.
