OUTSTANDING FANCY OAK MIRRORED CHINA CLOSET IN BLACK BY G. W. HORRIX COMPANY, GRAVENHAGE. The cabinet in one piece has a large glass door with wood frame having an applied edge with carved flowers and vine. Three shaped shelves with red velvet tops. The back with plate mirror and sides having long glass windows. The cut inset corners with spool decorative elements as edges are mirror backed and support a single round candle shelf. There are decorative diamond point carved drop pendants as well as top finals. A bottom crest with scroll and flower design. The top crest having a shield and scallop carving. Applied garland of flowers and sprays of flowers to each side. All in an ebonized black finish. Raised on tall cabriole legs which have a stylized claw foot. PROVENANCE: Estate of Maria M. Viveiros, New Bedford, Massachusetts. SIZE: 82-1/2” h x 42” at widest x 16” d. CONDITION: Generally very good. The top crest has a chip on the shell and interior has been electrified. 9-28766 (1000-1500)
