*UPGRADE L.C. SMITH DOUBLE BARREL SHOTGUN. Cal. 20ga. Upgrade engraved with full coverage patterns having two setters and a woodcock on the left lock plate in a woodland scene in 3-color gold and two setters and a quail in a field scene in 2-color gold on the left. The back of the fences, top of the receiver, opening lever, front sides and bottom of the receiver are all inlaid with heavy 3- color gold, in oak leaf and acorn patterns. The balance of the metal is completely covered with wood grain background and foliate arabesque patterns. The trigger plate has a raised gold partridge in 2-color gold. The trigger and selector lever are gold plated. The trigger guard is engraved with file worked pattern edges. The foreend iron has matching pattern engraving with raised gold oak leaves and acorns in 3-color gold. The chamber end of the bbls is engraved 2-1/4” and has raised gold oak leaf and acorns in 2-color gold surrounded by matching patterns. Bbl rib extension is also engraved with the name ‘”L.C. SMITH” with “DeLuxe” inlaid in gold. On each side of the muzzle are two raised gold oak leaves. The opening lever is filigree carved. It has been rewooded in spectacular French walnut 14 3/8” over a serrated hard rubber buttplate. It has a full checkered beavertail forearm and long checkered wrist. The shotgun is originally “OO” grade with 28” bbls choked. Impcyl/Mod. It has ejectors and broken ivory front bead with Hunter One Trigger. SN 6330E. CONDITION: Extremely fine, retaining virtually all its fine custom finish to both metal and wood. Case colors on the receiver, lock plates and trigger plate are fine and subtle.
