TWO CARVED SHORE BIRDS IN FLIGHT BY RANDALL. 20th century, possibly Canadian. Each bird depicted in flight, mounted on a wooden plinth. One painted in black upper and cream lower body, the second with gray mottled upper body and light gray lower body, each with pointed bill and metal eyes. Each signed “RANDALL” carved into the underbelly. SIZE: Each: 11″ approx l. of bird, wingspan approx. 14″ l. PROVENANCE: From an East Sangerville, Maine private collection. Acquired from Wallace Hamilton, Dover-Foxcroft, Maine in the 1970’s by the present owner’s father. CONDITION: With original surfaces, the darker bird with shrinkage split underside of body. Second example with clean repair proper right wing at body. Otherwise very good. 9-94949 (600-800)
