*SPRINGFIELD M1 GARAND. Cal. 7.62 mm. SN 896410. 24” bbl. Rifle gives off the appearance of a U.S. Navy 7.62 rifle except there is no visible nomenclature on bbl with exception of “7.62 NATO”. Insert is no longer in bbl, so to shoot this gun plastic spacer should be removed & shoot standard 30-06 ball ammo. Bbl could be either late manufacture replacement bbl or possibly a copy. CONDITION: 1942 receiver has an arsenal reparkerizing to it but it has about 95% finish. Op-rod is also refinished & is a “-9” unmodified. Lower band pin is not present. Bbl retains 98% gray/green Parkerizing. Gas cylinder & front sight assembly retain 85% orig finish. Trigger housing assembly is “-8” & has been refinished in its entirety. Buttstock is a post-war with a “DOD” cartouche & is in very good condition with several small dents that do not detract from its presence. Hand guards are in very good shape with minor denting & scuffing from being in racks. Rifle retains a Type 2 locking bar sight & post-war sling. Should make a nice shooter/collector piece. Bore is bright & shiny. 4-57843 BK44 (700-1,000)
