*SMITH & WESSON PRE-MODEL 29 DA REVOLVER. Cal. 44 mag. SN S156452. Scarce early 5-screw model with blued finish, 4” bbl, red ramp & white outline sights, target trigger & hammer and early diamond checkered medallion magnum grips. Accompanied by an original Smith & Wesson black leatherette covered presentation box with purple satin lining and tools. Also accompanying is a Smith & Wesson letter dated July 20, 1999 identifying this revolver as having been shipped Nov. 6, 1956 to Wilson-Walz Sporting Goods Co, El Paso, TX, it also indicates that it was original with this type of target stocks. CONDITION: Very fine to extremely fine. All matching except the grips which are unnumbered. Retains 95-96% strong bright original blue with minor muzzle and edge wear. Grips are extremely fine with light diamond point wear. Crisp mechanics, and bright shiny bore. Box is fine with 1 slightly mashed corner, a few nicks and dings, soiled and torn bottom inside lining.
