FINE FRENCH GAME OF SKILL COIN OPERATED MACHINE. Typical of a French turn-of-the-century machine, this gambling device has a quality wood cabinet with carved marquee in orig finish, adorned with ormolu trim affixed to a velvet-covered background. One would drop a French franc in the coin slot and depress the right-hand lever, thus propelling the ball around the concourse in a counter-clockwise motion. If one were lucky enough to get the ball into the far left opening or the 4th opening from far left at the top, then one could depress the left-hand lever releasing a token and any balls that had accumulated in the reserve chute. These balls could then be released one at a time for more play activity and possible future winnings. The reserve chute is the center hole. SIZE: Approx. 18″ w. x 6-1/2″ d. x 26″ h. CONDITION: Overall condition very fine plus, minor worm holes in wooden base and some worm damage to right rear of base. 1-8730 JL (1,000-2,000) Auction: Advertising, Toy & Doll - Fall 2008 Please Note: All prices include the hammer price plus the buyer’s premium, which is paid by the buyer as part of the purchase price. The prices noted here after the auction are considered unofficial and do not become official until after the 46th day. |
