14 1/2” FRENCH BEBE. Incised “J. STEINER B te S.G.D.G. PARIS FIRE A 7.” On original Steiner body, jointed at the shoulders and hips. Close mouth doll has blue paperweight eyes, thickly painted eyebrows with multi-stroke eyelash painting. Appropriately redressed with an antique peach silk with lace overlay and cloth flower adornments, antique black oilcloth shoes marked “3” and “4” respectively. A dark brown human hair over original Steiner cardboard pate, wearing a wide brimmed hat covered in orchid colored silk and ecru lace trim of embroidered flowers. CONDITION: Appealing cabinet sized bebe with good quality bisque, body maintains original finish. RS 1-4290 (2,250-2,750)
