SIX PIECE GROUP OF LEEDS & LIVERPOOL TRANSFERWARE TOGETHER WITH FRENCH TRANSFER PLATES. 19th Century. Lot includes an oval transfer decorated creamware pendant attr. to the Herculaneum pottery; a creamware plate transfer decorated with classical ruins; an oval creamware undertray with a classical scene in the tropics, possibly Herculaneum. A silver lustre oval platter with indistinguishable underglaze mark and two French transferware plates; one of Aesop’s fables titled “LE RENARD ET LE BUSTE”; the second a transfer decorated plate from a series on commerce, Plate No. X “Prix Fixe/Soieries/SCHALES/et/nouveautes”. SIZE: Pendant measures 5″ x 4″; Platter 12″L x 8 3/4″W. PROVENANCE: From the private collection of Dorothy-Lee Jones. CONDITION: 1) Very good; 2) Flea bites and shallow chips to rim, wear to transfer decoration; 3)slight wear to transfer decoration on rim, otherwise very good; 4) with roughness to rim and wear to silver lustre, otherwise good; 5)Aesop’s fable with shallow rim chip, otherwise very good; Prix Fixe very good. 9-23322 (400-600)
