R.J. HORNER CARVED MAHOGANY PARTNERS DESK. Late 19th-early 20th century. The lady’s carved desk of diminutive proportions having a rectangular molded top above the conforming frieze profusely carved overall with scrolling leaves and vinery, each drawer with a central brass handle, the desk raised on cabriole legs headed by deeply carved lions’ masks and ‘S’-scrolled acanthus leaves terminating in claw feet, raised on casters. SIZE: 31-1/2″ h. x 54″ l. x 30″ d. PROVENANCE: From an extensive private Gulf Coast collection. CONDITION: Professionally restored and refinished with antique hardware. Deep reddish-brown color. Showing normal and expected minimal wear. No label. Very good overall. 9-93318 (5,000-8,000)
