COLLECTION OF SIX ENGLISH PEARLWARE, LUSTRE AND TRANSFER-DECORATED PITCHERS AND CREAMERS. Late 18th/early 19th century. Including 1) Prattware creamer known as “Mischievous Sport”. 2) Second pearlware creamer molded with cupids on one side and two young children on the other with vertical patterns of water leaves. 3) A pink lustre pitcher with male and female busts. 4) A second lustre pitcher with silver resist borders of grape leaves. 5) Two transferware pitchers, the first pearlware example polychrome decorated with scenes of birds and pastoral landscapes on a red/orange ground with floral borders. 6) The second a Staffordshire transferware pitcher with classical vignettes of robed figures. SIZE: 8-1/2″ h (largest); 4-1/2″ h (shortest). PROVENANCE: From the private collection of Dorothy-Lee Jones. CONDITION: 1) With shallow chip on spout. 2) Flecks on spout. 3) Slight wear to lustre on rim. 4) Shallow chip on rim. 5) Very good. 6) With chip on rim. Otherwise all very good. 9-23226 (400-600)
