WINCHESTER FIRST MODEL HOTCHKISS BOLT ACTION CARBINE. Cal 45-70. SN 12578. Usual configuration with 24” rnd bbl, square base front sight with ski jump 1000 yd rear sight. Receiver has usual markings. It is mounted in a 1-pc carbine stock with stud and sling ring on left side, a smooth steel carbine buttplate and rack number on the comb. CONDITION: Fine. Retains virtually all of a bright refinish. The wood appears to be an original military replacement stock that does not appear to have been refinished. No cartouches visible. Bright shiny bore. 4-50563 JR77 (500-1,000)
