WINCHESTER MODEL 1866 SADDLE RING CARBINE. Cal. 44 CF. SN 101243. Standard carbine with 20” rnd bbl, full magazine with integral front sight and 2-position flip rear sight. It has a staple & ring in left side of receiver. Mounted with what may be a replacement buttstock with an unusual semi-crescent iron buttplate. It has standard forearm. CONDITION: Poor to fair. No markings remain on bbl with iron being a dark brown, attic patina with scattered pitting. Receiver & carrier have several dents & dings and have been polished bright. Forearm is missing a large section of the tip and has a couple of cracks with heavy battering, buttstock is also somewhat battered, and both have a very dark finish. Screws are battered. Mechanics are fine, worn dark bore with heavy pitting. 4-30115 JR240 (1,000-1,500)
