*NEAR MINT AS ISSUED 1940 42 CODE LUGER PISTOL WITH HOLSTER. SN 2863d.. Cal. 9 mm. Rare complete Luger with 4″ bbl, “42” on front toggle link (Mauser manufacture), & “1940” over chamber. It has eagle “655” proofs on right side receiver & is accompanied by two matching numbered aluminum base magazines. Both magazines have eagle “37” proofs with number “122” on left side just above base. Also accompanied by an orig black leather holster, marked “GRAF / 1940 / LEIPZIG”, with eagle & Waffenampt “WaA 170” on back. Inside has an orig unmarked takedown tool. Lugers with matching rigs in this condition are extremely difficult to find. PROVENANCE: Doug Smith Collection. CONDITION: Extraordinarily fine, all matching including two magazines & grips. Overall retains about 99% strong orig factory blue with only slight muzzle & sharp edge wear from holster. Grips are near mint & sharp, showing very light wear with just tips of diamonds having light oil stain, with beautiful wood grain showing through. Grips screws are in near mint condition. Magazines & takedown tool are also near new. Mechanics are crisp, brilliant shiny bore, possibly unfired. Holster is in beautiful near mint condition with nice white stitching & minor wear & scuffs.
