*FINE CARL GUSTAFS MODEL 1896 SWEDISH MAUSER. SN 251250. Cal. 6.5 Swede. Standard Swedish Mauser with 29″ rnd bbl, square base, dovetailed barleycorn front sight and 2,000 meter military rear sight. Receiver has standard 1896 markings with the date “1909”. Mounted in a full length 1-pc birch stock with half handguard with nosecap/bayonet lug and a sgl band with sling loop and corresponding sling loop in butt stock. It also has a slotted head ramrod. Right side of butt stock is inlaid with the brass sighting disc and it has a bright, smooth steel buttplate. Left side of the exposed bbl near muzzle has the import mark of Century Arms. CONDITION: Very fine to extremely fine, all matching except floorplate which is numbered “394”, all other parts are numbered “250”. The metal retains virtually all of its bright orig arsenal blue with a couple of wear spots on exposed bbl. Bolt, follower & rails retain about all of their orig bright metal finish. Wood is sound with light handling & storage marks and retains virtually all of its orig oil finish. Mechanics are crisp, bright shiny bore. 4-40190 JR251 (300-500)
