*SCARCE DELUXE WINSLOW BOLT ACTION RIFLE. Cal. 338 Win Mag. SN 19969. Spectacular custom rifle built on a commercial FN action with 26″ tapered rnd bbl. The receiver is mounted with a Redfield Junior base and rings containing a Redfield 3-9X scope. The bolt body, extractor and follower are jeweled. It is mounted in the Winslow trademark spectacularly carved, highly figured walnut stock. The forestock has a wide convex bottom tapering to the rosewood tip and is carved in the gullets on each side with deep relief basket weave oak & acorn patterns by master stock maker Nils Hulkern. The bottom of the forestock is inlaid with the Winslow trademark ivory shield scrimshawed with a knight’s helmet and surrounded by deep carving. The trademark pistol grip has identical basket weave oak leaf & acorn carvings and has a sweeping rosewood grip cap inlaid with an ivory diamond scrimmed with the initials “AHG”. The buttstock has a very deep rollover cheek piece with contoured butt and a black Pachmayr pad. The right side of the buttstock is inlaid with Winslow’s trademark sweeping ivory inlay, which has the black figure of a running bull moose. The right side of the stock, by the ejection port, has a triple ivory & ebony diamond inlay. CONDITION: Extremely fine. Retains virtually all of its wonderful custom finish to both metal & wood with minor handling & use marks and two or three small cracks in the deep varnish on the stock and slight crazing on the rosewood.
