*FINE SPRINGFIELD M1-D GARAND SNIPER RIFLE. SN 2477914. Cal. 30-06. Usual configuration with 24″ bbl marked “SA-4-53”. It has a standard battle sights and is mounted with M84 scope with rubber eye cup, SN 13521. Mounted in a 1-pc walnut stock with 2-pc handguard. Stock has the “P” proof on grip and is mounted with an “MRT / 11-62” laced on leather cheekpiece. Sling loops contain a cloth sling. Buttplate is stamped sheet metal with trap that contains an orig 4-section cleaning rod with tip and handle in orig cloth case, a double ended plastic oil bottle and a tiny container of grease. PROVENANCE: Alan Brown Coll. CONDITION: Very fine. All the metal retains a wonderful arsenal type restored gray/green Parkerized finish. Wood is sound with some minor oil staining on upper handguard and overall retains most of its fine oil finish with minor storage and handling marks. Mechanics are crisp, bright shiny bore.
