*WINCHESTER MODEL 1897 TRENCH GUN. Cal. 12 ga. SN 936143. Authentic trench gun with 21” cylinder bore bbl, metal hand guard with bayonet lug, uncheckered wood, with rnd forearm and semi-pistol grip stock with replacement, appears to be Remington, buttplate. The left side of the receiver has a large “U.S.” and the top of the bbl, a flaming bomb. The left side of the butt stock has a “W.B.” cartouche and an ordnance wheel. CONDITION: Good plus. Overall retains 30-40% original blue with the balance a brown patina, with nicks & scratches and a large ding on the receiver. There is a crack in the wrist and the toe has been modified. Front sling loop is missing. Bright shiny bore, good mechanics. 4-51137 JR1045 (750-1,250)
