GOOD EARLY 17TH/18TH CENTURY CARVED BLANKET CHEST. Lift top chest having original cotter pin hinged and open interior. Front having three identical carved panels with arch and diamond motif. The top edge having carved lunettes and the bottom with a carved border. Top and sides with inset panels. Probably English. PROVENANCE: From a Downeast, Maine Collection. SIZE: 26” h x 21-1/4” d x 51” w. CONDITION: Very good, some expected cracks in panels, old surface. 9-70517 (1,000-1,500)
